Welcome To Maine By The Water
Welcome to Maine By The Water Vacation Rentals. Are you looking to sleep by the sea or wake by the lake? We offer both and will provide you with personal and friendly attention from the moment you contact us.
Experience Old Orchard Beach, celebrated as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
Our beach house is just 75 steps from the section of the 7 mile beach called ‘Grand Beach’. It is thought by all of the real estate gurus to be the most desirable location because of the fine sand, the gentle slope with no steep drop off and the wide expanse of beach available at low and high tide.
Our roof top deck at Beachwalk Four is a rare feature and our favorite place to enjoy morning coffee and happy hour. It’s always 5 o’clock somewhere!
For a more laid back setting, discover Lake Arrowhead, a crystal clear lake and the only trophy bass fishing lake in the state of Maine. Grand View 14 is centrally located, yet still near Maine’s beautiful coastline. It’s the perfect setting for your lakefront vacation of a lifetime.
Being a grandfathered property, we are lucky to have our lakefront home located only 50 feet from the water, with a gentle slope on the lakeside and a flat grass play area inside the circular drive on the driveway side. You’ll love the serenity of all the hidden coves on the Lake. The perfect start to a day is to paddle around in the kayaks watching the sunrise.
You can savor spectacular Maine sunsets and our unmatched hospitality at either location.
No matter what setting you choose, the best little beach house, (mere steps to a gleaming white sand beach) or lakefront splendor (in our spacious and inviting chalet) we know you are sure to return home refreshed and renewed after experiencing Maine By The Water, “the way life should be”.
Warning: You may never want to leave.
Maine has 65 lighthouses. If you can only visit one, we suggest Portland Headlight. This lighthouse is in a beautiful park setting with amazing views of the ocean and the city. Kids will love to explore the remnants of old forts that are on the grounds. Located in Fort Williams State Park in Cape Elizabeth, it is considered the “Granddaddy of all lighthouses,” and is one of the most visited and photographed lighthouses in the world. It was commissioned by George Washington and first lit in 1791. There is an onsite museum and ample parking. Portland Headlight was selected to appear in a Forever postage stamp series called New England Coastal Lighthouses. The stamp was issued July 13, 2013.Find Out More

Not ready to let go of summer? Fall is the new summer. There is no better time than the fall to visit Maine. The temperatures are just right and most of the tourists have headed south. Lots of festivals and agricultural fairs abound, some are one day affairs and others last a week. Not to be missed is the annual toast to Maine’s culinary arts, Harvest on the Harbor, It involves incredible seafood, wine tastings and an array of visiting celebrity chefs. Our favorite event is the Grand Tasting, with its starry setting in the Ocean View Room of the Ocean Gateway Pier. The Maine lobster chef of the year competition is one of the most popular events. And, oh yes, there’s the wicked awesome fall foliage. Everyone asks,” when’s the best time for peak color?”Find Out More
Maine does a great job of turning our crystal clear water into mighty fine beer. Maine has the fourth highest concentration of micro-breweries in the country. There are more than 40 craft breweries, dozens less than an hour from Grand View 14 and Beachwalk Four. Steve’s favorites are Dirigo Brewing in Biddeford and Gneiss Brewing Company in Limerick. Dirigo is located in the historic Riverdam Mill and overlooks the legendary Saco Falls. Gneiss, pronounced Nice (the G is silent) is just a few miles from the Lake House. We also recommend Maine Beer Tours. It’s a laid back all inclusive tour, which includes transportation, snacks, beer samples and tons of fun.Find Out More
